Farmers Tour

– These are the guiding principles of the MONS project.

To make MONS tangible, we walk to the local producers who are part of MONS. In addition to the motor and naturalistic aspects of the event, Chris’ kitchen will also be at the centre of the day. However, the protagonists of the day will be those we are proud to call farmers. They are the animators of all the stations. Each with a different flavour and different products. Taste foods that you may never have tasted before. At the end of the day you will have a little insight into what the area around Dobbiaco has to offer – and not only on a culinary level. The farmers will in fact open the doors of their four walls, their heart. Are you convinced? Then let’s go.


Meeting point: 09:30 at the Restaurant Tilia, Dolomitenstraße 31/B, Toblach
Start: approx. 10:00 a.m.

Welcome: with rye bread, lime blossom honey and alpine herb tea. Short introduction to the day.

The route leads through the picturesque landscape of Dobbiaco. We walk up to where the symphonies of the great composer Gustav Mahler still resound. Then we walk through the important wildlife park and at the first of the four stations you will be shown how milk depends on the conditions in which the cows are reared and grazed.

At the second station you can taste jacket potatoes of various historical and rare varieties.

At the third, we will let you taste different types of smoked bacon, made directly by Hans from the Weberhof.

At the latter, you will be served lunch at the Klaudehof, based on veal and vegetables from the farmer, prepared by Chris over an open fire. This will be a delicacy to remember.

Local South Tyrolean wines and beer from Villabassa accompany the meal.
